Description: This self-contained compost bin requires less work than the traditional kinds of units. Because it uses the process of fermentation (like in a brewery) and operates without the need for fresh air and, no turning of the pile is necessary. Because there are few thermophilic microbes oxidizing your food scraps, the unit will not heat up and steam like a normal system – the required heat will be absorbed by the sun. Placement in a sunny or part-sun location will help speed up the decomposition. Finished compost takes longer to form, but has more bulk and higher levels of valuable nitrogen.
